I'm Shawn, and I built Solara Digital out of a decision I made on what I can honestly say was one of the worst days of my professional life. I had spent years pouring everything I had into a local company here in Delaware. I treated it like my own, working way to many hours, 6-7 days week, and caring about every detail. Then it all fell apart despite all of my efforts and for reasons that were completely out of my control. I went home that day and made myself a promise: I was never going to work that hard for someone else's dream again.The other promise I made myself was that whatever I built next was going to be something I genuinely loved and I was going to let that be my only compass. No chasing money, no forcing it. Just follow what actually excites me and trust that the rest would follow. That north star led me straight to AI. I spent months going deep, building things, testing tools, getting genuinely blown away on a regular basis. The only thing was given the possibilities were so endless, I was pulled in many directions. At some point my mom, half joking, said "only if bouncing between all these ideas was a business in itself." Something clicked. I realized the skill wasn't any one tool, it was the ability to take all of it and apply it to real businesses with real problems. That's when the foundation for Solara Digital was born.I started close to home. The Lewes and Rehoboth area is full of exactly the kinds of businesses I had in mind. Beautiful work, real craft, loyal customers, but inconsistent or nonexistent social media presence. I knew I could help and being local matters to me. These are real businesses run by real people. Neighbors you see at the local Wawa or at the grocery store getting groceries for the week. To me that is what its about.One more thing worth saying: I also noticed what agencies were still charging for these services and what AI has done to the actual cost of delivering them, and the gap is significant. Technology made this work exponentially more efficient. Most agencies quietly put that savings in their own pocket. Solara was built to pass it on to the businesses that actually deserve it.
